An ADSL based solution is best choice for small size companies, as well as for tying together remote subsidiaries of large companies.
This Internet access technique uses a copper-wire cable carrying an active telephone line of a subscriber who is assigned an MGTS or COMSTAR number. At the customer’s side there is a special equipment where to plug in a computer or a LAN, and also telephone and fax stations or a PABX, if necessary. It does not affect in any way the telephone number and functionality of existing telephone line, used as Internet access channel. A special feature about this service is asymmetrical access speed up to 7,5 Mbps in the direction «to the user» and up to 768 Kbps in the direction ’from the user’.
ADSL technique allows to establish a high-speed digital channel on the conventional telephone line thus ensuring:
- additionally up to 8 telephone lines;
- access to Internet at a speed of 7,5 Mbps, which is hundred times higher that the access speed though an ordinary analog modem;
- creation of a virtual private network (VPN), which allows to aggregate telephone lines of several remote offices under a common internal numbering plan;
- deployment of a virtual telephone network with common numbering plan in order to integrate telephone networks of several remote offices.
