Moscow, Russia – August 16, 2010 – “COMSTAR – United TeleSystems” JSC (“Comstar” or “the Group”) (LSE: CMST), the largest integrated telecommunications provider in Moscow and 83 Russian cities, today announced that the Board of Directors (the “Board”) have set the date for Comstar’s Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (“EGM”) for September 22, 2010. The EGM will be convened and votes cast remotely via proxy. Shareholders registered at the record date of August 13, 2010, will be eligible to participate and vote at the meeting.

August 9, 2010, Moscow: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), a leading provider of integrated telecom services in Russia and the CIS, announces that the Central Branch of COMSTAR-Regions (100% subsidiary of COMSTAR-UTS) has set upon implementation of a program to construct and upgrade its networks in the Central Federal District using FTTB technology.

August 9, 2010, Moscow, Tver: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), a leading provider of integrated telecom services in Russia and the CIS, together with Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) arranged a volunteer charity tour Green Train to Tver and provided high-speed fixed and mobile Internet as well as multi-channel TV to the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Teenagers with Disabilities and a number of Tver families with disabled children. The event took place on August 7, 2010.
