COMSTAR ACQUIRES MINORITY SHAREHOLDING IN ITS YEKATERINBURG-BASED SUBSIDIARIES
Moscow, Russia – February 25, 2010 – “COMSTAR – United TeleSystems” JSC (“Comstar” or “the Group”) (LSE: CMST), the largest integrated telecommunications service provider in Moscow and 69 Russian cities, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Comstar-Regions has completed the cash acquisitions of the outstanding 20% minority stake in Yekaterinburg-based cable-TV and communications operator EuroTel LLC and a 25% minority stake in ‘Management and Leasing’ LLC, which owns communication infrastructure in Yekaterinburg. Comstar now owns 100% of the issued share capital in both companies. The total cash consideration for the two related acquisitions is RUB 100 million (US$ 3.33 million [1]).

COMSTAR ACQUIRES TENZOR TELECOM AND ENTERS YAROSLAVL MARKET
Moscow, Russia – February 16, 2010 – “COMSTAR – United TeleSystems” JSC (“Comstar” or “the Group”) (LSE: CMST), the largest integrated telecommunications service provider in Moscow and 69 Russian cities, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of 100% of Tenzor Telecom LLC in Yaroslavl in Central Russia for RUB 220 million (approximately US$ 7.3 million[1]). At the time of acquisition, Tenzor Telecom had a net debt of RUB 32.7 million, and the deal was made at a 2009 EV/OIBDA multiple of 4.65x.
